Spectrum Sound

Our project, aimed at offering band lessons to children with autism, is a testament to the transformative power of music in enhancing the lives of individuals with unique learning needs. The initial funding from The Dabo All In Foundation and OUTBACK has allowed us to make significant strides in planning and preparation. We have seen tremendous enthusiasm from both the children and their families, underscoring the importance of this initiative.

As we approach the next phase of our project, we find ourselves in need of additional financial support to bring this vision to fruition. The additional funding of $6,500 will be instrumental in covering the following critical areas:

  1. Specialized Music Instructors: We believe in providing the highest quality of education for our students. To ensure that our music lessons are tailored to the unique needs of children with autism, we require the expertise of specialized music instructors who have experience in working with individuals with diverse learning abilities.
  2. Adaptive Instruments and Equipment: To create an inclusive and accessible learning environment, we need to invest in adaptive instruments and equipment that cater to the specific needs of our students. This includes instruments designed to accommodate sensory sensitivities and enhance the overall learning experience.
  3. Therapeutic Support: Integrating therapeutic support into our program is crucial for the holistic development of our students. The additional funding will enable us to collaborate with qualified therapists who can work alongside our music instructors to create a supportive and nurturing environment.
  4. Community Engagement Events: We aim to foster a sense of community and inclusion by organizing events that showcase the talents of our students. These events not only provide a platform for the children to shine but also raise awareness about the importance of inclusive music education.

In 2023 Friends of the Little White House Sponsored music for 25 campers for Selah Gray Foundation’s Summer Camp to receive a band experience.  We will continue our mission to provide music education and experiences to our community.
